What does the Telecommunications and Compliance package include?

If you’re looking for a complete end-to-end solution, this is it! It covers all aspects of design, construction and compliance, including:

• Completion of new development application with the correct network provider
• Drafting of AutoCAD or PDF proposal telecommunications plan
• Internal underground telecommunications infrastructure
• Delivery of VC81 council compliance (required for certificate of occupancy).

Once these steps are complete, your property will be ready for connection to the NBN by your network provider. If needed, we can also assist with internal NBN wiring as a separate service too. Below, we explain each of the inclusions in more detail.

Completion of new development application

For developments with more than two units, it generally takes a minimum of six months for the application process to be completed—so getting this started early and getting it done right is a must. Our team submit hundreds of these applications for our customers every year, and know exactly what is needed to streamline the process and make it as efficient as possible.

Drafting of AutoCAD or PDF proposal telecommunications plan

A common hurdle for many developers submitting the application themselves is drafting the telecommunications plans in the correct format. Our experienced in-house design team are up to speed with all the latest requirements for compliance, and will draft your NBN plans with all the necessary information to meet G645:2017 standards. We will also communicate directly with your network provider to refine your plan as needed, to free up your time so you can focus on other areas.  

Internal underground telecommunications

When it comes to completing the underground infrastructure works, getting it even slightly wrong can be incredibly costly, so working with experts who understand the complexities and requirements is essential. Our experienced team of technicians and excavators will construct your underground network installations to the exact specifications shown in your plan to ensure compliance. This includes pit and pipe installation in pre-dug trenches, or trenches dug by us. We will also extend conduit/s to the nature strip ready for future connection by your network provider.

Delivery of VC81 council compliance

Since the introduction of new legislation in 2013, most councils across Victoria now require VC81 telecommunication compliance documentation before they will release the Statement of Compliance for developments required for occupancy. Obtaining the documentation is a surprisingly complicated and multi-layered process, which is why the majority of developers now outsource this task to a telecommunications contractor. Our expert team understand all the complexities of the legislation and requirements, and will make sure the process is as fast and efficient as possible to avoid delaying completion of your project.
